About Me
My name is Dayna, owner & creator of Bone Thread Alterations. I grew up in a small town in Texas & have been living in the PNW for 6 years now. Financial insecurity was a hallmark of my childhood—we could only afford outdated & unfashionable clothing from the local charity store. My mother, a hardworking and creative woman saw the love I had for fashion, along with the insecurity I felt wearing the ill-fitting clothing. My mom passed down her knowledge of sewing to me—over time I learned to fit a garment to my body & personality. After my first project I recall her telling me “No one on Earth has this dress you’re wearing. It’s yours.
From that moment on a deep love & passion emerged for altering, redesigning, & salvaging clothing. I’ve been creating for almost 18 years now and my love for the art has only grown—ultimately leading to the founding of Bone Thread Alterations.
I want to share my passion & help others create clothing that feels like theirs.
In our world dominated by fast fashion, taking the time & money to extend the life of a well-loved garment through tailoring and restoration actively pushes for a more sustainable future for fashion.
